The home team started with an attacking mindset and it showed on the scoreboard, the Bulldogs piled on seven goals in the opening term to take a 23-point lead into the first break.
The Tigers fought back in the second term and reduced the margin to nine points before the home team extended its lead in the second half to get the 12.16.88 to 11.6.72 win.
It could have been a bigger margin if the team was more accurate in front of goal.
Kallen Young, Tom Thewlis and Liam Baker all finished with two majors each for the Rovers with Lachlan Pickering named the team’s best player.
The win keeps SMW Rovers’ slim finals hopes alive with the team sitting in 10th position, two wins out of a top five spot.
