After jumping out to an early three-goal quarter-time lead, Newstead fought back to level the scores by the main break of the A Grade clash.
Pulling away to a slender two-goal lead heading into the final term, the Grasshoppers piled on 17 goals to six to record a 13-goal victory at home.
Bek Seeary-Pye was a standout for Navarre, shooting 35 goals at 77 per cent accuracy. Jess Parry shot 17 goals in her second game back for Navarre’s A Grade team.
Defenders Sophie Flood and Jacana Gordon were also key for Navarre in the win.
Their fourth consecutive victory helped Navarre jump into the top eight for the first time this season, sitting in seventh place going into the long weekend bye this week.
