The Hawks started slowly, having just one scoring shot in the opening term as the Tigers could have put the game beyond the home team with better accuracy, finishing the quarter with 2.7.19.
Tatyoon started the second quarter better, closing the gap on the scoreboard and got ahead late in the term to go into half-time with a one-point lead.
From there, the home team continued to build on its lead in the third quarter.
A four goals to two final term for the home team gave them the points with a 11.5.71 to 6.16.52 victory.
Matt Pell kicked three goals to top the Hawks’ goal-kickers list in the win while Sean McDougall was named the team’s best in the round five match.
Richard McCormick and Allan Noone both slotted two majors for the Tigers. The win leaves the Hawks in sixth position ahead of the bye.
