Peta Byrne leaves a big hole in goals to fill with the team hoping to trial some different options early in the season to see what works best.
Hawkesdale-Macarthur will go into the match as favourites but the Rovers shouldn’t be counted out if they bring a four quarter effort on the court and maintain pressure across the midcourt and defensive third in particular.
Annie Armstrong will step up to A Grade for the full season and will be important for the visitors at the attacking end if the Bulldogs are to open the season with a win away from home.
The round one A Grade game is scheduled to start at 3pm at Macarthur Recreation Reserve.
