The protest regarded an A Grade match between Swifts-Great Western and Pomonal which was originally scheduled to be played on February 23 before being changed to January 6.
An agreement could not be reached between the teams to play the game before the February 11 deadline meaning both teams would split the points, due to the heat policy being enacted on January 6 unless a protest was issued.
Combine submitted a protest along with the required fee attached but the association executives deemed the original decision to stand, meaning the two teams will each receive three points for the round seven match that was not played.
Pomonal did not submit a protest to the association regarding the fixturing issue.
Association president Dave Turner said a decision needed to be made before finals to make sure other teams were aware of the result, whatever the decision was.
“We set the February 11 deadline so it would be sorted before finals and the decision we made will stand,” he said.
“The game will revert back to January 6 which was called off due to the heat policy meaning the two teams will split the points along with the other teams that round.”
The decision comes as the A Grade competition comes to an end with the second day of final round matches to be played on Saturday.
Pomonal is out of finals contention and Swifts-Great Western currently sit at the top of the ladder.
Pomonal faces Youth Club while Combine is against Tatyoon to complete the regular season fixtures.
