Grampian Model Railroaders held their model train show at Ararat’s Gum San Chinese Heritage Centre, allowing for many attendees to arrive by real-life railways.
Exhibition manager Colin Konig said the event had been a success, drawing in visitors from a wide area to see several model layouts in action.
“It was the first show that we ever had in Ararat and we got a lot of people from Ararat that had never been to a trade show before,” he said.
“We had a awful lot up from the Melbourne on the train.” Mr Konig said the layouts ranged from modern to European to historical.
“We had a lot of questions as people were very interested in how the layouts were made,” he said.
