The day will kick off from midday at Alexandra Oval Community Centre with a free barbecue lunch provided by Council and prepared by the Ararat Lions Club.
Official proceedings will commence at 1pm with Australia Day awards presented, a performance by the Ararat Rural City Band and guest speaker Bill Kusznirczuk.
This will be followed by free activities in Alexandra Gardens from 2pm-6pm, including delicious popcorn, slushies and fairy floss, an acoustic performance by Jacob Hamilton, adult and children friendly giant jumping castle and slide, and free entry to the Ararat Olympic Outdoor Pool.
Pool staff will also be handing out free Australian flags and removable tattoos to help spread the Aussie cheer.
Celebrations are also planned at the Lake Bolac and Willaura outdoor pools, with free entry and a barbecue to take place in the afternoon.
