Nellthorp captained the Grampians Cricket Association side in all three games of the Kirton Shield, leading the team to its first competition win since November, 2015.
He scored 190 runs at an average of 95 in his three innings’, including a high score of 104 not out. Only one batsman recorded more runs.
The Grampians skipper also picked up three wickets from 15 overs across the three matches at an average of 23.
Maryborough’s Ben Evans was named the player of the series, hitting 72 runs and claiming six wickets.
The Grampians under-17 team lost two of three matches, failing to advance beyond the group stage of the competition. Gisborne Green went on to defeat Ballarat Gold in the Kirton Shield final on Sunday.
