Firstly the Warriors committee of management would like to express their congratulations to every footballer who represented the Warriors this Year.
The club is extremely proud of the way that all players conducted themselves and whilst being competitive in actions and spirit also demonstrated great sportmanship and leadership for the juniors footballers to come. Well done.
Coach Shane Allgood has developed all players throughout the year and always provides the most important ingredient to any junior foundation, that is having fun, thanks Shane.
Some individual recognition this year included Kade Bohner winning the the best and fairest, Jim Jennings runner up Best and Fairest and Jordon Cox third Best and Fairest.
Jim Jennings has another two seasons within the junior ranks and finishing the runner up best and fairest is outstanding.
Rovers
Rovers had a good finish to the year, coming within 24 points to the unbeaten Mounties in the Grand Final.
This margin showed that the kids had improved significantly as the year went on.
Before this game they had only managed to get within ten goals or so of the Premiers.
All players showed improvement as the year progressed, with some great results in the vote count at the end of the season.
The best and fairest was taken out by Leroy Bell, a convincing winner from Logan Cooper who was runner up by just one vote to Ryan Heard. Darcy Woodfine took out the goal kicking award with 24 Goals.
Bombers
Another successful year for the Bombers, even though the results reflect otherwise, it was encouraging to the see the improvement in the playing group throughout the season, achieving some great results along the way.
Ash Graham won the club’s best and fairest ahead of Zak Peachey while Harrison McLaren, Jackson Harris and Peachey tied for the leading goal kicker award.
Sam Hanson, James Mullin, Brady Weppner and McLaren all notched up their 50th games this season which is a big achievement.
Mounties
2017 was a great year for Mounties, going through the season undefeated and claiming an excellent Grand Final victory.
Mounties were led by first year coach Mark Dadswell and his assistant Jamie Dowling, who offered the players every opportunity to play to their full potential.
The focus for 2017 was to develop the skills of the players and make sure they were enjoying their football. This was displayed throughout the season with all players improving as the year progressed. The club best and bairest went to Flynn Toner with Tom Cousins in second while Bodhi Stephens topped the goal kicking.
