The win caps off a strong year for the Demon, who polled 34 votes to win by a single vote ahead of runner-up Justin Eales from Penshurst.
Lockyer will be hoping his form can continue for one more week to lead the Demons to a premiership on Saturday.
In the reserves, it was Wickliffe-Lake Bolac’s Jhye Kenna who went back-to-back to win his second consecutive DJ Martin Medal.
Kenna did it easily in the end, polling 27 votes, with the next closest on 17.
Moyston-Willaura’s Aaron Byron capped off his strong season in which he kicked 101 goals, winning the under-16.5 best and fairest.
Hawkesdale-Macarthur’s Pat Sinnott picked up the senior leading goal kicking award with 77 goals while Ram Brock Wardlaw was awarded the reserves honour.
