UPDATE 11am: A vigorous west to northwesterly flow will continue across Victoria during Monday with gusty showers and thunderstorms possible.
Almost all of western Victoria south of Warracknabeal was covered in the warning area, including Ararat and Stawell.
The warning remains relevant for the central, south west, north central, West and South Gippsland and parts of East Gippsland, Northern Country, north east and Wimmera forecast districts.
Locations most likely to be affected include Portland, Warrnambool, Colac, Wonthaggi and the Alpine resorts.
The highest wind gusts recorded to 10am Monday included 104kmh at Wilsons Promontory, 103kmh at Port Fairy and 100kmh at Falls Creek.
The warning to the Wimmera’s sheep graziers remains in place.

EARLIER: The Bureau of Meteorology has issued a severe weather warning for damaging winds across Victoria.
The warning applies to the central, south west, north central, West and South Gippsland and parts of East Gippsland, Northern Country, north east and Wimmera forecast districts.
The warning says a vigorous west to northwesterly flow will continue across Victoria during Monday with gusty showers and thunderstorms developing.
Damaging west to northwesterly winds of 50kmh to 60kmh with gusts of 90kmh to 100kmh are possible with showers and thunderstorms expected across coastal parts of the south-west, central and west and South Gippsland districts early Monday.
Localised damaging winds with gusts up to 90kmh associated with showers and thunderstorms will extend to remaining parts of the warning area later on Monday, before contracting to coastal areas again during the evening.
The bureau is due to issue an update this morning.

The bureau also warned sheep graziers that cold temperatures, rainfall and strong westerly winds are expected during Monday and Tuesday.
Areas likely to be affected include the Wimmera, North Central, North East, South West, Central and West and South Gippsland forecast districts and parts of the Mallee, Northern Country and East Gippsland forecast districts.
There is a risk of losses of lambs and sheep exposed to these conditions.
