Mr Andrews posted a video from ‘AC News’ on his highly popular Facebook page, which boasts more than 375,000 followers.
“Year 8 student Jack Ward is the toughest journalist in Ararat – and this is my pick for the Logie Award for Most Outstanding News Coverage,” Mr Andrews posted above the video.
The TV News-style video covers Mr Andrews’ visit to Ararat Wind Farm in June for the project’s official completion ceremony.
Jack asks Mr Andrews and about the state government’s goal to have 40 per cent of Victoria’s power come from renewable sources by 2025.
“Is this goal likely to be achieved and, if so, will it increase power prices?” Jack asked.
Mr Andrews replied that Victorians were voting with their feet and supporting renewable energy.
“It won’t be easy, but we’re on track to meet our 2020 target and we’re very confident in the sorts of investments we’re seeing.”
Ararat College’s newsletter stated at the time that “Jack was very calm despite the large number of press photographers who were taking his photo while he conducted the interview.”
As of Friday evening, the video had been viewed 18,000 times and liked by almost 400 people.
Jack also produced a written report of the premier’s visit.
