The Hawks finished in fifth place on 11 wins in the home and away season.
The Demons finished in fourth with the same amount of wins but with a better percentage.
Tatyoon got the points against Lismore-Derrinallum with a 37 to 33 goal win on their home court in round seven which was its only encounter between the two sides so far in 2016.
Tatyoon coach Laura Maconachie said the team will approach the final in a similar way to the 2015 finals series.
“We figured that because we finished fifth we have nothing to lose,” she said.
Maconachie said Becky McDougall will be an important part of the team’s plans on Sunday.
"Becky McDougall is our centre player,” she said.
“She is very valuable and very strong”
