With the exception of some external brick work and landscaping, the hall interior is close to completion.
Mayor Paul Hooper visited the site with Cr Colin McKenzie, Cr Fay Hull and Cr Frank Deutsch.
He said excitement is building in Pomonal for the hall’s opening.
“We met with members of the Pomonal Hall Committee during the visit and they are thrilled with the brand new, modern facility they will soon be able to call their own,” he said.
“The site will be handed over to the committee and community to undertake in-kind landscaping from this weekend and they will do a fantastic job with the finishing touches.”
Details of community working bees for landscape works will be advertised at the Pomonal Shop.
The new multi-use facility was made possible with $485,000 in State Government funding and $450,000 from the council.
The Pomonal community also made a contribution towards the project with cash and in-kind work.
An official opening is yet to be announced and the hall’s first scheduled event will be the Pomonal Art Show on September 3.
