Two teams were tied on games, with McDonald's scrambling in three sets to Stan Hamilton's two to claim victory.
Stan Hamilton dug deep in two of Josh Matthews’ sets but a 9-3 win to Morgan Gason and Carl Barry got the winners out of a hole. Morgan has settled into a rich vein of form.
In less exciting results, Marx Metal won by nine games.
Andy Kalluri was asked to be quiet by the neighbours after a big Neil Blizzard serve hit him firmly on the thigh. It didn't quieten Andy down at all.
Garry Hurst won far too many service games while Geoff White and Greg McInnes traded blows all night. Finally, Christians Buses won by nine games over Mitre 10.
Mark Stevens was again the difference, winning two sets convincingly. He is mastering the game after a brief apprenticeship.
The photo shoot was successful with players attempting to move their feet and look the part.
