The event was contested by 39 players so being last to arrive, odd man out Jim Brennan got two chances to win a prize. It’s a pity neither of his partners could help him out so he had to settle for fourth place twice. Verdon and Poole finished on plus eight from Stuart Muller and Ken Farrar (+6).
Consolation prizes were won by the teams of Charles De Fegely/Tim Philip (+5), Jim Brennan/Steve O’Connell (+4), Jim Brennan/Rob Harricks (+ 4), Brian Rieniets/Richard Schwab (+4), Richard Harris/Mark Harris (+ 4).
Nearest the pins were David Jennings on the second hole, Stuart Muller (8th), Ian Tucker (15th), James Brennan (16th) and Ken Farrar (18th). Thursday’s chicken run winners were Peter Dohnt, Tilla Horvath and Max Chamings all on 38 points. Friday’s nine hole competition, Des Hull won with 18 points.
This Saturday’s event is the club monthly medal.
