Ms Brumby walked out on the marsupial in the backyard of her Moore Street property during the region's cold snap.
"It scared the hell out of me," she said.
"I don't exactly know how he got there, other than to have jumped over our six foot high fence."
Ms Brumby said it isn't the first time something like this has occurred, but it was a beautiful reminder of how closely linked we are to our natural surroundings.
"I have had wallabies, beautiful barn owls in the middle of the day, magpies that can be hand fed and even snakes," she said.
"I really don't know what the attraction is, but after I opened the back gate he bounced down the road."
