This year’s cruise will see all proceeds go to the Ararat Breast Cancer Support Group in their quest to purchase a new oncology chair for the East Grampians Health Service.
After the success of last year’s cruise, organiser Mark Rudolph said it is hoped to now make the cruise an annual event with funds raised going to worthwhile causes.
The cost of each oncology chair is around $6000 and Mr Rudolph said East Grampians Health Service needs around six of them.
“They do want six there, so if we can get one that would be good,” he said.
The Cruise for a Cause is expected to attract between 80 to 100 cars of all types, from hot rods to classic cars and everything in between as well as bikes.
Cars will start assembling at Elizabeth Park (opposite McDonalds) at 10am on Saturday and spectators are welcome to call down for a look and to donate some money. The cruise will leave Ararat at 11am bound for Barney’s Bistro at Pomonal for lunch and then leave Barney’s at 2pm to head to the Pickers’ Market in Stawell. Raffles will be held at Pomonal while there will be an auction at the Picker’s Market.
The cost is $20 per car with proceeds going to this year’s ‘cause’.
