Ararat North Primary School students are already on board and have been getting active around the playground for a number of weeks in preparation for Active April.
With registrations now open, everyone, whatever their level of fitness, gender of age are being encouraged to make the commitment to 30 minutes of physical activity every day for the month of April as part of the Premier’s Active April campaign.
It’s as easy as a walk with friends, getting out in the garden, or just taking the stairs.
Family, friends, neighbours or work colleagues - everyone is invited to participate, and it’s free.
Last year a record number of over 90,000 Victorians joined in the fun. You can create and join teams, track your progress on the Active April app and discover events happening in your area.
There’s plenty of motivational tips to keep you going, delicious and healthy recipes on offer and great idea to get and stay active. And if that’s not enough reason to join, everyone who registers receives 10 free YMCA passes, 15 per cent off at Sportsmart in store and online, one hour free tennis court hire at Melbourne Park or Albert Reserve, a two for one ticket offer to Sea Life Melbourne Aquarium and a chance to win some great prizes including our major registration prizes of four tickets to the 2015 Toyota AFL grand final, a $1,500 bike voucher or a GoPro camera
Minister for Sport, John Eren is encouraging everyone to get involved.
“Premier’s Active April is a great way to encourage - and challenge - Victorians to incorporate physical activity into their daily routine,” Mr Eren said.
“All Victorians should sign up to this year’s Premier’s Active April.”
