Melody and Marlon have joined forces to co-headline a packed tour of New Zealand and Australia including Ararat Live.
The two will perform at 8pm in the Red Room at the Ararat Hotel on Thursday August 14.
Melody and Marlon have been making inroads into the Australian music scene having received great reviews in many magazines and interviews on radio.
Marlon has been touted as the 'The artist to watch' by Rhythms Magazine and Marlon also featured on SBS' Rockwiz in May.
Melody Pool, hailing from Kurri Kurri in the Hunter Valley, NSW, identifies her music influences as Joni Mitchell and Jackson Browne. Following the re-release of her first album 'The Hurting Scene' in 2013, Melody toured the UK and Europe with the Californian group The Milk Carton Kids.
Marlon Williams originally from Lyttelton near Christchurch, NZ, and now based in Melbourne, claims Hank Williams as the musician that influenced him the most. Marlon is torn between his love for bluegrass and his reverence for choral music.
The beautiful historic cathedral in Christchurch that was destroyed in the 2011 earthquake is where he had spent countless hours singing in the choir. Marlon, as a teenager was part of the Catholic Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament Choir that toured Europe and supported the Vienna Boys Choir.
Marlon while in his teens formed the group 'The Unfaithful Ways' and recorded an album 'Free Rein' followed by 'Harbour Union'.
In 2012 as part of the APRA country music awards both these albums were nominated for best album and 'Ghost of this Town' was nominated for the best song. Marlon made the album 'Sad But True Volume 1' during 2012. Marlon's first solo album 'Strange Things' is due for release in October 2014.
