7.51am: After a world gold medal championship at the age of 21 followed by years of struggling to duplicate that form, a now 26 year old Dani Samuels is back to career best form with a gold medal win in the women's discus at Glasgow.
7.41am: After a week she's glad to have behind her, Sally Pearson did her talking on the track when she monstered the field to win Commonwealth gold in the 100 metres hurdles.

7.08am: Australia has not won a Commonwealth gold medal in women’s high jump in 20 years, now it has a schoolgirl champion. Eleanor Patterson, aged just 18, had to miss a few weeks of school and and the world juniors to attend the Commonwealth Games but she's not regretting the decision at all.

5.45am: Shelley Watts has a very simple message for the woman standing in between her and Australia's first Commonwealth Games gold medal in women's boxing: "I will not be stopped." Watts smashed her way to the lightweight (60kg) gold medal match with a unanimous decision over Northern Ireland's Alanna Audley-Murphy, ending a highly successful day for an Australian boxing team that now has three fighters in gold medal bouts.
5.32am: After six Commonwealth Games silver medals, Matthew Mitcham has finally won a gold medal when he combined with Domonic Bedggood to win the synchronised 10-metre platform event on Friday night.

5.03am: It's back to the drawing board for Australian gymnasts after finishing without a Commonwealth Games gold for the first time in 36 years. Lauren Mitchell and Mary-Anne Monckton added more silver to Australia's coffers on the floor and the beam respectively on the final day of gymnastics.
2.10am: Some of the lustre was taken off the victory by Australia's Andrew Maloney over Reece McFadden when Scottish boxer McFadden labelled ringside officials `corrupt.' Maloney will fight for the flyweight Commonwealth gold medal in Glasgow's Hydro on Saturday night.
11.10pm: With the Crookwell connection of Kellie White and Emily Smith opening the account with a goal each, the Hockeyroos made light work of their 7-1 semi-final rout of South Africa. The Hockeyroos will now face the winner of the New Zealand v England game in the final on Saturday night.
