The 13 preps that started school for the first time had a very positive start to the year and were all extremely happy and excited to be starting school.
Such an encouraging start to the year is due to the fantastic transition program Lake Bolac P-12 College together with the Lake Bolac and District Kindergarten offer the children in four year old kinder.
In term two the children are taken to the school once a fortnight during kinder hours, where they participate in a numeracy session and then return to kinder.
In term four at the conclusion of kinder on Wednesday they are taken to the school, where they spend the afternoon participating in activities, and at 3.30pm when school finishes, they can be collected from the College or they can go home on the school bus.
This program has allowed the children to become familiar with the school facilities, teachers and other students before they actually start prep, which makes their first day not so daunting.
Lake Bolac P-12 College look forward to this program continuing with the 22 children currently enrolled at Lake Bolac and District Kindergarten.
