The family decided to stop in at Green Hill Lake for a few days to break up their trip from Melbourne to Murray Bridge in South Australia.
“Found out about it from the Camping for Free group on Facebook,” Mrs Nichol said.
“There was good feedback about it on Facebook and also in the Camp 7 Book as well.
“It is good, nice and spacious and flushing toilets and showers are a bonus!”
The happy campers enjoyed their brief stay in Ararat so much, they are looking to holiday in the area again in the future.
“We’ve just been doing a big of walking around the lake and have been for a look around town,” Ms Nichol said.
“We haven’t had too good a weather in the fi rst few days being here, but it is still a really nice spot.”
Ms Nichol said their adventure around the country is expected to last eight months.
“We sold our house, decided this is it, we are doing it,” she said.
“So we are building a house while we travel and when we get back it will all be finished.”
