Up to 25 people walked a combined distance of 1944 metres (27 laps) in fine conditions raising awareness and funds for the Lung Foundation.
The walk was followed by lunch with a gold coin donation going towards the Lung Foundation, which provides support to patients and carers burdened by lung disease and to ensure lung health is a priority for all in Australia.
The Ararat Senior Choir then provided an afternoon of tunes for the group to give their legs a rest, but their vocal cords a work out.
World COPD Day is organised by the Global Initiative for Chronic Obstructive Lung Disease (GOLD) in collaboration with health care professionals and COPD patient groups throughout the world.
Its aim is to raise awareness about chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and improve care throughout the world
The first World COPD Day was held in 2002. Each year organisers in more than 50 countries worldwide have carried out activities.
This year's theme was "It's Not Too Late." A positive message chosen to emphasise the meaningful actions people can take to improve their respiratory health, at any stage before or after a COPD diagnosis.
