ARARAT - The Ararat Eagles unveiled a modernised version of its playing jersey during Saturday's clash against Hawkesdale/Macarthur in round 12 of the Mininera and District Football League.

A name change to one of the Eagles' major sponsors, Chemmart (formally Ararat Healthwise) provided a good opportunity to revamp the strip.
Ararat Eagles' acting president Marcus Matthews said there will be a couple of minor changes to both the football and netball uniforms.
"First of all we have had Ararat Healthwise changed to Chemmart and we have also added our other sponsors Telstra and McDonalds," he said.
"The design is the same, although the Southern Cross stars now have the correct seven points on them, whereas the old jumpers have only got five.
"And the back of the jumpers will be a little bit different with the size of the numbers. They all look really good."
Chemmart has been the Ararat Eagles' major sponsor since its inception into the Mininera and Mr Matthews said in a strong sign for the club the local chemist had this year agreed to continue its support for an additional two seasons.
"Telstra has also been with us for two or three years now and the same with McDonalds - We really appreciate all the support we get from our sponsors," he said.
The Eagles used $1000 from the Victorian Government's Sporting Uniform Grants Program to update their jerseys.
