Children along with crews and trucks from the CFA and SES we will be making as much noise as possible and shaking tins as they walk almost every street in Ararat tomorrow starting at 9am, in the hope of topping last years tally of $22,786.
Crews will also be collecting from both the High Street and Barkly Street traffic lights all day.
Ararat Good Friday Appeal co-ordinator Graeme Cooper said that anyone who misses the collection and wishes to donate can visit the Ararat Fire Station on the corner of Tuson and Flattley streets where they can make a donation and get a receipt between 9am and 7pm tomorrow.
He said alternatively if you are unable to drive to the station you can call the Ararat Fire Brigade between these hours on 5352 2423 and brigade members can pick up your donation.
The Brigade invites any children and parents that may like to assist with the appeal to be at the Ararat Fire Station between 8.30am and 8.45am where they will be registered, given their collection tin and divided up into their collection crew for the morning. The children and parents will then be invited to stay for lunch after the collection which will be finished by approximately 1.30pm.
"I encourage the whole town to get behind this year's appeal," Mr Cooper said.
"This is a terrific cause as every year there are families from Ararat and district that require the services and support from the Royal Children's Hospital. I ask that we dig deep and support this great cause by donating when the children and crews walk your street tomorrow."
