The fixture for the season was delayed due to COVID requirements with round four fixtures starting the season.
In section one there was four games with some sides showing some early season signs of strong form.
The Ararat Bowling Club scored fell short of a home victory to begin the 2021-22 season against the Stawell Bowling Club.
The Stawell Bowling Club scored 78 shots in the match and scored 10 points, while the Ararat Bowling Club earned 53 shots and two points of their own.

At the Ararat VRI Bowls Club it was Lake Bolac and District Bowling Club who scored a comprehensive victory away from home to start the season.
The Ararat VRI Bowls Club's three teams scored 58 shots and earnt two points, but the class of Lake Bolac and District Bowling Club rose to the occasion as they scored 73 shots and 10 points.
At 1:15pm on Saturday the Chalambar Golf Bowls Club got their season off to the perfect start with a dominant win over the Landsborough and District Bowling Club.
Chalambar Golf Bowls Club took the lead early and never let up their momentum, winning with 107 shots and 12 points.
OTHER NEWS:
Landsborough and District Bowling Club scored 40 shots of their own, but they couldn't manage any points to start the season.
Finally, Aradale Bowls Club played out a thrilling match against the Stawell Golf Bowling Club, with just four shots separating the teams.
Aradale Bowls Club scored 67 shots and earned 10 points, while the Stawell Golf Bowling Club fell just short scoring 63 shots, enough for just two points.
After the first round of matches, Chalambar Golf Bowls Club sit well clear on top of the ladder, with the Stawell Bowling Club, the Lake Bolac and District Bowling Club and the Aradale Bowls Club forming the chasing pack behind.
