Over 400 pieces of TAMA's collection have been published online thanks to Victoria's Regional Digitisation Roadshow program.
Ararat Mayor Jo Armstrong said it was essential to preserve the gallery's collection.
"Our collection was initiated by the local community over 50 years ago; a great deal of community fundraising and effort was invested to acquire what gallery visitors see today," she said.
"The gallery holds over 1,200 incredible objects that highlight the emergence of textile and fibre art."

The latest addition to the online collection is 166 items of the Lady Barbara Grimwade Costume Collection.
The Grimwade collection consists of 450 items donated to the gallery in 1991 by Lady Grimwade's son Angus K. Grimwade.
The country and its lifestyle held immense significance to Lady Barbara Grimwade as she had strong family ties to the Ararat-Beaufort region.
She was known for her classically simple approach to her apparel during an exciting time in fashion history where 'power dressing' was the norm.
Gallery staff have uploaded photographs of clothing, hats, handbags, shoes, and accessories that represent fashion design from 1956 to 1989.
Cr Armstrong said the Victorian Collections website would bring more eyes to the Ararat Gallery.
"The works are a significant asset to the community," she said.

"Lady Grimwade's collection is deeply evocative of an era of luxury, elegance and glamour from a time of European couture that is still influential on the catwalk fashions of today.
"Capturing a portion of the Grimwade sub-collection is a significant step forward in the overall digitisation project. (It) allows the gallery to be easily accessible to everyone, while preserving our collections for future generations."
