With weather weather and fuel moisture conditions permitting, Forest Fire Management Victoria teams will be targeting fuel reduction through the Ararat Snake Hill Track
This burn will be completed between 10am and 6pm on Wednesday October 2020.
The aim of this 51 hectare fuel reduction burn is to reduce fuel levels to better protect the town and important community assets and infrastructure of Ararat from the impact of bushfire.

Forest Fire Management Victoria also advised residents they may be affected by smoke from these planned burns.
Smoke may be visible from Ararat and Western Highway (north of Ararat).
In the event of smoke if you are experiencing any symptoms that may be due to smoke exposure, the Department of Health and Human Services advises that you should seek medical advice or call Nurse on Call on 1300 606 024
If smoke is abundant in your area, close windows and doors to prevent smoke from entering
If smoke is in the area, care needs to be taken on the roads as road travel may be hazardous due to low visibility associated with smoke
Signs may be in place to slow traffic. Obey all traffic signs and instructions from fire agency crews near the burn.
Access to forest and park and recreation sites may be changed with planned burns happening in the area.
Residents should stay clear of where burns are taking place or areas that have recently been burnt.
