The Rats raced home strongly, placing sixth on the ladder after scoring five wins and seven losses across the season.
Ararat Rats A Grade coach Rebecca Skrabl said she enjoyed the season as it played out.
"It was actually a good season and I am really happy with where the players ended up at the end of the season," she said.
"Coming into the season I knew we would take a while to settle in. It is a very young side, with three of them around 18 and others around 20.
"For me the most enjoyable part is seeing the team take what we are putting into practise and putting it together on the court.

"Especially at times, we beat a few teams we weren't expected to and so it was great to see them excited with themselves."
Earlier in the season the squad had a mix of inexperience, player unavailability and injuries, before turning the tide.

The best win of the Rats' season was a dominant 20-goal win over the Warriors in Stawell in round 10.
Skrabl said throughout the season Racquel Scott, Monique Scott and Tayla Borelli were some of the standouts who led the way.
"Some of them went to new positions and excelled there and so it was good to see them put it all together with challenges getting thrown at us," she said.
"We tried to focus on bonding and doing things together as a team throughout the year.
"Next year I think the girls are looking forward to have a red-hot crack at it."
The club had mixed results in the other netball grades with the B Grade claiming second, C Grade finishing seventh, sixth in the 17 and Under, third in the 15 and Under and seventh in the 13 and Under.
