The small, but active yacht club is keen to attract new members for the upcoming 2021-22 sailing season, with programs in place to help new members who would like to learn more about the sport.
The Yacht Club anticipates that the September high water level of 86 per cent at Lake Fyans will guarantee excellent water quality well into the New Year for the entire 2021-22 season.

The club is hopeful their biggest sailing event for the season, the Melbourne Cup Weekend regatta (series of boat races) can still proceed on the last weekend of October.
The Melbourne Cup Weekend regatta normally attracts sailors from the north and Western Victoria, right to the border region including people from metropolitan Melbourne through to Swan Hill.

At their August AGM, reigning Yardstick Trophy champion (club's best sailor) and pennant series winner Ross Bennett was voted in as the club's new Commodore (club president).
He is taking over from Mark Knights who guided the club through the past two seasons.
In November, the club will hold a 'Learn to Sail and Race' program.
The course is targeted at people who may already have a small amount of sailing experience or for novices who would like to learn a new and challenging competitive sport.
According to the Stawell Yacht Club, racing small dinghies is an excellent sport for people who have retired from contact sport but still want to enjoy an exhilarating, challenging and competitive sport.
Free use of club's sail training dinghies will mean that costs are kept to a minimum.
