1993. I came out of junior football in Ararat. A good mate of mine, Lance Nicholson, was coaching at Great Western at the time.
Q. In what capacities have you been involved with the club?
I've been captain, Reserve's coach, Under 16 coach, Under 12 coach, and now I'm the Auskick coordinator. I've been on the committee and I'm also bar manager this year.

Q. What is your number one highlight in your time supporting/volunteering?
It would probably be the 2013 Reserves grand final, just because we'd had such a long premiership drought.
Our Seniors premiership flag in 2019 - I wasn't playing in it, I was playing Reserves - but it was just a massive year.
Getting to play a game with my son, Ajay, was also a highlight.
Q. What is the greatest piece of advice you have received as a player?
Probably to learn from your mistakes and to also learn from the people around you.
OTHER NEWS:
Q. What is some advice you look to give the junior players you coach?
Be fair. Being a tough footballer doesn't mean you bully everyone, a tough player does things for their mates.
It's about looking after the smaller players and going hard at the ball and not the player.
Q. Who is the player from your club you've most enjoyed watching?
There would be a few. The obvious one would be Dale Hurley. He was one of my best mates and probably the best player I've ever played with as well.
Probably also the Tiwi boys who have played over the last few years.
My favourites to watch have been my kids. Inika and Miley play netball for Great Western and Ajay plays football for Great Western.
