Neither team qualified for the season decider last year, with reigning B Grade premiers Youth Club unable to reach the grand final to defend its title this season.
Combine has held the top spot on the ladder for most of the season and looked like the team to beat from early on.
St Andrews have built some momentum going into the finals and have shown at different times this season that the club’s best cricket is good enough to match it with the best teams.
The teams were scheduled to play each other twice this season but the round 11 match was cancelled due to the heat policy.
Combine won the round two clash after St Andrews was forced to forfeit, meaning the two teams have actually yet to bowl a single ball against each other this season.
St Andrews bowlers will need to be at their best, with Combine amassing some big scores during the season.
Swifts-Great Western also qualified for the A Grade finale, meaning there is unlikely to be any substantial changes to its team from Combine’s semi-final win against Youth Club.
St Andrews is also likely to take a similar line-up into the weekend’s matches after its semi-final victory.
With the B Grade competition a one-day competition this season, the grand final format has changed.
Competing clubs will now play a best of three games on Saturday, Sunday and Monday (if needed).
It will be interesting to see if tactics change from the two teams across the three days with this season being the first time it has been used for B Grade in recent years.
Craig Marrow will be an important wicket for St Andrews, with the Combine batsman averaging 93.75 this season.
Ben Boatman will be important for St Andrews, having notched up 455 runs for the season, including a century and four 50s.
The St Andrews opening batsman will be hoping to set the tone for his team during his time at the crease with both teams capable of setting and also chasing big scores in 40 overs.
It should be a fascinating weekend with Combine to go in favourites to claim the B Grade premiership but the games could do either way on the day.
The first game will be played at Great Western with the second game scheduled for North Park.
The third game if required will be played at Great Western on Monday.
All games are scheduled for a 1pm start.
