Morris, of Inverell in north-west NSW, is taking part in the #Time2Choose rally in Sydney’s CBD on March 24, one year out from the NSW state election, to demand action to protect our land, water and cultural heritage from coal mining and coal seam gas extraction.
He’ll be riding from Martin Place to Prince Alfred Park in the CBD.
The rally will be led by representatives of Indigenous communities and feature thousands of people on foot. Dozens of horse-riders from around the state will hold a simultaneous parallel ride through the city.
“We are at a crossroads. One road leads to clean air, clean water, renewable energy, protection of cultural heritage and healthy communities,” Mr Morris said.
“The other road leads to more coal and coal seam gas mining. It’s time to carve out a positive future. It’s our time to choose: clean water, clean air and clean energy.
“We’re asking everyone, whether city folk, country folk, riders or not to join us at the rally. This is about ensuring we have a vibrant future with a diverse economy, a safe climate and clean water across the whole state.”
