Savage finished the round with 70 to finish one shot clear of runner-up Craig Potter.
In the B Grade, it was John Shaw who claimed the top prize after he was able to hold off runner-up Ian Tucker with both players scoring.
Brett Smart topped the C Grade event with a score of 67 ahead of Harold Thomas on 68.
Col Savage, Tad McKinnis, David Jennings, Peter Gee and John Shaw all picked up nearest the pin prizes during the round.
Max Chamings, Wayne Seadon and Clyde Vearing got the consolation balls.
There was no chicken run 18-hole or nine-hole events played on Thursday with golfers now turning their attention to the weekend.
The club will host the Stroke Monthly Medal McAllister Cup Trophy event with entry open to members and visitors.
