There wasn’t a lot in the contest with the Rats winning by five goals.
The final scoreboard read Ararat 34 to Horsham 29.
This was the closest contest to come out of junior netball for the day.
The Rats had their foot ahead of the Demons for the opening three quarters, building up to a lead of six goals coming into the final term. After the first quarter the Rats led 11-9.
In the second quarter, both teams struggled to score goals. The Rats scored seven while the Demons scored five.
Four goals separated the two teams at the half way point.
Rats captain Jesse Bligh was named best on court for the winning squad.
It was a massive feet for the young Rats who managed to finish off the season undefeated.
Bligh said finishing off the season undefeated was a good feeling.
“I’d like to thank the Demons, it was a tough game, we couldn’t have played the game without you,” she said.
Coach Donna Spalding said many had sacrificed time and effort for the team.
“You can never get to this stage without people who sacrifice,” she said.
“I’d like to thank Hannah Barl and Riley Cocks. They didn’t take to the court and they knew they probably wouldn’t, they’ve been there all year for us and it’s a hard gig to sometimes sit on the bench… especially when you’re a winning side.”
