He said it was a special occasion.
“I had all my family up here and we got to spend some time with them,” he said.
“As a young kid growing up all you want to do is get a chance to play one game. A milestone like this was a good chance to reflect.”
At times it has been a frustrating journey for the wingman who has had to overcome a raft of injuries.
He has only managed to play more than 20 games in a season twice since making his debut for the West Coast Eagles in 2005.
“That’s probably been the biggest challenge,” he said.
“It’s also one of the things that I’m most proud of, having the resilience to keep working and improving to come back stronger.
“A lot of them have been impact injuries so there is not much I could really do about it.”
He said along with making his debut and playing in winning finals the highlight of his career has been the relationships he has formed at West Coast and Gold Coast.
“Obviously I’m closer to the end of my career than the start but I’m really enjoying my footy at the moment,” he said. “Fingers crossed that the body holds up and I can chalk up a few more games.”
