The visitors were again caught on the hop, as the Burras jumped out to an early lead with the Rats only managing one goal in the first term while the home team managed 5.5.35.
The second quarter was a similar affair with the home team continuing to create chances in front of goal.
The Rats scored two majors but went into the main break trailing by 45 points.
The third quarter was played in the same manner with a five goals to two term favouring the home side making a Rats victory unlikely at the final break with a 63-point margin.
The Rats ran out of gas in the final term, as the Burras had their highest scoring quarter of the game with seven goals.
The visitors could manage two goals but it was not enough as Minyip-Murtoa ran out comfortable 22.7.139 to 7.5.47 winners.
Tom Mills continued his impressive form for Ararat, finishing with three goals to top the goal tally for the visitors.
