Ararat’s UnitingCare Ballarat volunteer, Marg Peoples, has been recognised for 15 years of service to the organisation at a dinner last Thursday.

The dinner was to acknowledge all the contibutions volunteers had made to the programs the organisation runs in the Ararat region.

Mrs Peoples said it was a great way to continue contributing to the people in Ararat.

“When I retired, I wanted to put back into the community,” she said.

“I regularly drove people to their medical appointments and I have fond memories of the trips to Melbourne, Geelong, Warrnambool, Hamilton, Horsham, Ballarat and Stawell.”

Mrs Peoples first started volunteering at UnitingCare in 2001, as the treasurer of the board of governance at the Ararat office.
