Jenkins has taken the step and will be supported by Kelli Felini during the season.
Eagles netball director Lisa Haddow said it was an exciting time for the club.
“Alana has taken that step and to have Kelli alongside her to help out and share her experience will be really helpful,” she said.
“Alana has been playing at the club for a while now and it was good to see her take on the role.”
The club is aiming to field six sides all in age groups and there are still some spots left for anyone who wants to join the club.
Haddow said the announcement comes off the back of a strong preseason with the squad showing positive signs on the court at training.
“We have had strong junior numbers at training along with senior players,” she said.
"We have 11 players in the 13 and under team which is great.
The 15 and under squad is a bit leaner then we have eight players in 17 and under team so far.”
Haddow said the team is on the lookout for senior players of all skill levels for the new season.
"We should be able to field a side in the A, B and C Grade,” she said.
“It is the club’s aim to fill six sides which would mean a team in each section.
“It is something the Eagles have not been able to do for a while.
The Eagles teams train at Ararat’s Alexandra Oval on Wednesday nights.
The junior teams start at 5pm with seniors at 6pm.
