The three-day event kicks off on Friday, September 9 at the Wesley Performing Arts Centre.
School choirs and ensembles start the competition on Friday, followed by students competing in strings, brass and woodwind as well as junior piano sections.
Pianists take to the stage Saturday, followed by vocalists. Intermediate and senior students perform on Sunday.
The adjudicators this year will be Melbourne’s Lewis Plumridge, who will judge the instrumental sections, while his wife Carole will adjudicate the vocals.
Both have significant experience with teaching music and also as examiners with the Australian Music Examinations Board.
Katherine Day from Mildura will accompany the vocalists.
The committee is grateful for the support of local businesses, which have generously come on board to provide financial assistance.
This will enable the presentation of medals and trophies to outstanding performers.
The local community is encouraged to come and support performers and endorse the dedication and talent of both students and staff.
Anyone requiring further information or wishing to assist during the event can call Margaret Priestley on 0438 947 959.
