The business end commences in the Mininera and District Football League with Saturday and Sunday’s finals with premiership favourite Tatyoon having the weekend off as reward for being the minor premier.
The qualifying final between reigning premiers Lismore-Derrinallum and Wickliffe-Lake Bolac takes place at Mininera in a rematch of the final round home and away game at Lismore.
The Demons proved they are primed to continue their finals form.
The Magpies played with a depleted team by resting six of their better players and it showed and provided the Demons with confidence for this week’s outing.
The Magpies held their Stuart Knight Medal vote count on Sunday with Bailey Veale winning it ahead of Brad Keilor.
The finals action will move to Glenthompson on Sunday for the elimination final between Hawkesdale-Macarthur and Penshurst.
The two sides only met once during the season in round 11 with the Eagles having a win by 39 points.
This game should be a tough encounter with bragging rights of the southern section of the Mininera league on the line.
Tatyoon the whistle stop community in a strong agricultural area have set the bar at a high standard for coming years for clubs to match.
Tatyoon’s 2016 season success of having a football side in each of the three grades in the finals as well as the bonus of all five netball teams appearing in their respective grades is a testament to the club’s hard work.
The success is supported by an impressive administration of president Sue Knight and secretary Jo Armstrong.
