WINDY, wet and wintry weather is set to continue in the Wimmera with snow predicted to fall on Mt William across Tuesday and Wednesday.
It would be the third snowfall of the year.
A Bureau of Meteorology forecaster said this week’s severe, cold weather would continue into next week.
Ararat shivered this week with temperatures dropping to 4.2 degrees, which felt like -1.7 degrees.
The city received winds of 60 kilometres an hour.
While Mt William saw severe 110-kilometres an hour winds, early in the week.
The forecaster said the severe weather was not unheard of, but certainly not the norm.
“The past two months have been particularly cold on average,” he said.
“It’s common to get strong cold fronts in winter that bring gusts and snow.
“But it’s notable there’s been about three events in the past month.”
The bureau said there was no sign of sunny days with cold, windy weather set to continue next week.
Snow is predicted for Tuesday and Wednesday in the Grampians.
