The students spent about an hour and a half rotating though different exercises before chilling out with relaxing music.
Horsham West teacher Rob Wood said the students enjoyed their workout on Thursday.
“We ran a program in school called ‘Beaut Bodies’ that looked at things like the cardiovascular system,” he said.
“The culmination of that was what we call the ‘whopper workout’ at the YMCA
“The kids broke into eight groups and each had eight minutes at a range of activities before swapping over.”
The students had a go at aerobics, ‘boxercise’, different types of gym equipment, treadmills and a rowing machine.
“It was one big circuit. It took them about 1 hour and 20 minutes,” Mr Wood said.
“The kids had a ball. They loved it. We didn’t hear one complaint.
“Afterwards we went to the floor room and and played relaxing music and everybody chilled out for 10 minutes.”
Mr Wood also thanked YMCA staff for their help with the program, which the school runs every two years.
“The YMCA were also good. We needed instructors for every group so they put on extra staff,” he said.
“We do Beaut Bodies and whopper workout every two years. We did it two years ago and I think we’ll do it again.
“It’s been very successful.”
