Student Chloe Brasser organised the entire school for the event to support cancer research.
It was the second time Chloe has organised the event following a successful 2015 Biggest Morning Tea.
She said the school reached its goal of $1000.
“I am really happy we got such a large amount,” she said.
“The whole school was behind it and everyone helped with the food today.”
An impressive spread was put on by students who enjoyed the food before their recess break.
Chloe said she had been motivated to act because she knew people who had cancer.
“It is a good way to help them,” she said.
Ararat West Principal the school was proud of Chloe’s achievements.
“All of our students have been involved all our parents have been involved and involving businesses outside of the school has been wonderful,” he said.
“Whether it is cancer research or the blue ribbon foundation, it is great for kids to think beyond themselves and get involved in fundraising and community events.
“It creates a great culture within our community, not just in our school but across the town.
“We are really proud of what Chloe has achieved and her willingness to be involved in such a wonderful project.”
The Ararat Breast Cancer Support Group also hosted its own Biggest Morning Tea on Thursday morning.
More than 60 people attended the morning tea at Ararat Bowling Club in support of the group.
The group’s Bev Walker said it was a great turnout considering the wet weather on Thursday.
“The people have been wonderful and they are supporting us terrifically,” she said.
The third event was hosted by Gorrin Retirement Village which has organised its Biggest Morning Tea for 17 years. Residents at the village had scones and drank tea with friends and family on Thursday.
