The Combine proved just how powerful it is with a strong performance against St Andrews last weekend while Aradale has its eye on third spot (replacing Tatyoon, who has the bye this round).
Aradale bowlers Cameron Ralph and Ahmed Razza were at their most dangerous against Tatyoon, and they will need to continue this form at Alexandra Oval against the likes of Tom Eckel, Jackson Dark and Sam Cocks.
Batsmen Tom Williamson, Riley Wood, Travis Horvatek and Cooper Heard face a battle against the Combine’s in-form bowlers Jamie Bach and Gary Ranton.
Second-placed Buangor cruised past Halls Gap last week and is set to continue that trend this Saturday when it travels to take on Pomonal.
Jack Ganley, Jack Fraser, Ben Hargreaves and Lachlan Oddie pose a huge dilemma for Pomonal’s batting lineup that includes Luke Jordan, Clayton Mackley and Robert McKinnon.
On the Buangor batting side, Jack Ganley and his brother Harry will again lead the way with assistance from Jack Fraser, Jacob Bates and Shaun Allen.
Pomonal bowlers Raine Mackley, Simon Donkers and Lee Oliver must work hard if they are to restrict the Buangor batsmen’s influence on the outcome of the match.
Chalambar makes the journey out to Halls Gap Recreation Reserve in what should be a close round 19 encounter.
It’s been three weeks since Chalambar played a full match after a bye last round and its match against Youth Club was washed out the previous week.
Chalambar batsmen Ryan Bertram, Aaron Jenkins, Alex Rodgers and Brett Crone’s focus will be to make solid scores as they come up against Damon Folkes, Andrew Cameron, Damien Joiner and Clinton Slorach.
Leading the Chalambar bowling attack is Josh Bywaters, Shaun Smith and Ashley Leggett and they come up against a Halls Gap batting lineup looking to redeem itself after a disastrous loss to Buangor in round 18.
Youth Club also suffered a shock defeat at the hands of Pomonal last weekend, however the Clubbers are likely to rally against St Andrews at Central Park.
B grade matches (round 13): Navarre v Youth Club (Navarre); Rhymney/Moyston v Buangor (Moyston); St Andrews v Halls Gap (Gordon Street); Swifts/Great Western v Pomonal (Grest Western).
