Tucker, who took on the role of assistant coach this year, polled 65 votes at the club's presentation day to claim the top honour ahead of fellow midfielder Sean McDougall on 51 votes.
The 2012 season marked Tucker's second year back at Tatyoon after playing football in the WAFL and for St Albans in the Geelong Football League.
He once again impressed with his hard-working style, creating plenty of headaches for the opposition with his hunger to win the contested football.
McDougall, a former senior best and fairest winner at Tatyoon, returned to the club in 2012 after a short stint away and added plenty of class to the Hawks' onball brigade.
Assistant coach Aaron Bird received the award for the most consistent player, polling 49 votes.
The midfielder enjoyed a standout debut season with the Hawks and was awarded runner up honours at the league's Lewis Medal count, finishing second to Caramut's Nathan Jones.
Tucker claimed third place in the league's best and fairest count.
A number of other presentations were made at Tatyoon's vote count, with young ruckman Arthur Armstrong named the best first year player.
Armstrong was also named the best player throughout the finals' series, which culminated in the Hawks making the grand final.
Defender Anthony Brady picked up the most determined accolade, while Tyler Cronin was named most improved.
The league's leading goalkicker for 2012, Aidan Bell also picked up his club award, while reliable defender Ash Graham claimed Julian Sambell's coach's award.
Ash Maconachie was rewarded for his stellar season on the field, picking up the reserves' best and fairest accolade.
Maconachie polled 35 votes to take out the top award from ruckman Jason Cameron on 33 votes.
Cameron was also named the team's best player throughout the finals' series, winning the Steven Smith Memorial award, and also picked up the most disciplined player accolade.
The Hawks' reserves enjoyed a suburb year, claiming their third consecutive MDFL flag.
The under 16s also enjoyed premiership glory in 2012, with Bill Fisher enjoying a best on groud performance in the decider.
Fisher enjoyed a runaway victory in the best and fairest count, polling an outstanding 101 votes.
The young gun was also crowned the best player in the under 16s finals' campaign.
Runner up honours went to Rich Joyce on 50 votes, with Tom Sullivan named most consistent.
Tatyoon president, David Martin presented club stalwart Bob McDougall with a life membership.
"Bob has had a continuous contribution over many, many years including a term as secretary, 20-odd years on the committee and is a behind the scenes tireless worker," Martin said.
"He has been outstanding, and I guarantee very few people who attend games at Tatyoon who have not eaten a hotdog cooked by Bob."
