People with an interest in nature are welcome to attend the bird watching event and have been asked to meet at the Gum San car park at 8.30 am.
The events are led by guest expert bird watchers who assist all in the group with identification.
The purpose of the events is to record which species of birds are present in the environment from one bird watching event to the next.
Participants also develop their skills and knowledge with the assistance of local experts.
Woodland birds are a diverse and important group of fauna that can tell us a lot about the health of the environment around us.
As a broad group they are facing a number of severe challenges with one in five species now listed as endangered or threatened.
Data collected from the day will be reported to Birdlife Australia who keep comprehensive records which are then used for a variety of planning and conservation efforts.
For further information of the half day event please contact Una Allender on 0419 891 920 or David Nichols on 0407 321 747.
