Leader of the 2nd Ararat Scout Group Belinda Graham said the group was struggling to source grants to complete the renovation of the kitchen and toilet area of the hall, which was built in the 1950s and hadn’t had an upgrade since.
The Lions Club of Ararat approached the group to see if they needed any help and their offer was quickly snapped up.
“Through the kind generosity of the Lions Club that made it possible to have a new kitchen, now the children can cook and learn new things in the kitchen,” Ms Graham said.
“The children thanks the Lions Club for their hard work with the kitchen and toilet area, but we still need the community to come on board to help us with a number of other projects.”
These include upgrading the fence and upgrading the road into the site.
The hall is now able to be used for other community events, contact Belinda on 0400 514 582 to book.
