IT was an interesting day at Derrinallum last weekend, starting in the under-16.5s when Tatyoon turned up with 12 players and the Demons with abundance.

Due to the requirement of 14 players a side, the Demons demanded the four points to loan Tatyoon some of their players.
The match went ahead after common sense prevailed.
The ideals for junior football are to provide opportunity for development in a safe and positive environment.
Prior to the main game, all players and officials lined up to pay respect with a minute's silence to one of the icons of Derrinallum football, Robert (Rosie) Pemberton, who passed last week.
Robert served as a time keeper for many years for the Demons. He was also a major contributor to the Derrinallum community.
One of Derrinallum's best known footballers, Richmond champion, AFL coach and good bloke, John Northey was in the crowd watching his old team climb to top spot on the ladder.
GIFTED A GOAL
Football produces the unusual at times. This event happened on Saturday at Ararat, during the Eagles and Penshurst senior game.
At the quarter time break with many supporters listening, Penshurst was still in the huddle. Children were on the ground kicking footballs and the central umpire bounces the ball and an Eagles' player grabs it and runs downfield kicking to a teammate who had moved towards goal and scored a major, which was registered.
Duty of care ignored with rule 11.2 page 133 of the rule book possibly not known.
ON REPORT
Ararat Eagles' player Aaron Jenkins fronted the Mininera and District tribunal on Tuesday night as a result of an incident at the start of the second quarter of the senior match.
Jenkins was found guilty of 'verbal abuse of an umpire' and received a severe reprimand.
MICK STEPS UP
It was the weekend of injured umpires and at 10am Saturday morning, the Pumas and SM&W Rovers game lacked an umpire, which led to the League organising a local, Mick Jennings, to officiate.
From all reports he carried out the duties superbly. The next day Mick umpired two under 13s games in Ararat.
Sunday evening Mick was last heard to be in soda bath while lubricating his vocal cords to recuperate.
Well done Mick!
